Google Pixel 4 could land on all major carriers in US, including AT&T

According to a leaked AT&T memo, discovered by Phone Arena, the list of Google Pixel 4 carriers in the United States might actually be complete this time around. According to the memo, AT&T will carry the Pixel 4 at its initial launch.

If this ends up being true, this will be the first time ever that a Pixel device has been available at all four of the major wireless carriers in the US, which includes Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint.

The AT&T memo — of which you can see a screengrab below — describes how the Google Pixel 4 will be given to AT&T sales representatives to familiarize themselves with the device. There are a few acronyms used in the memo that you might not understand: RSC stands for “retail sales consultant”; COU stands for “company-owned unit”; ATTUID is an employee’s company ID number (h/t to 9to5Google for the explanation).

Basically, the memo is saying that one AT&T representative at each retail location can get a free Google Pixel 4 device to use as a personal smartphone. This person cannot be someone who uses a Samsung phone as part of the Samsung Pro program at AT&T, and also can’t be part of a similar program for iPhones, which is called Apple Master.

The person who gets the Pixel 4 device will become the “expert” on that product and be in control of any signage and displays at AT&T stores and be the go-to person for questions about that device.

Theoretically, this memo and the program wouldn’t exist if AT&T was not on the list of Google Pixel 4 carriers. Assuming that the carriers that sell the Google Pixel 3a also get the Pixel 4 — which is Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint — we should see the Pixel 4 at every carrier in the US.
