Rumor: Nexus 5 Releasing on Google Play October 31st, Hitting Canada on November 8th

Image
We already know just about everything about the Nexus 5, or at least we think we know everything about it already. We know the specs, pricing, we just need availability. And hopefully tonight’s rumor is real. So we can stop hype beasting the Nexus 5 and get it in our hands already. We’ve already seen many renders of the Nexus 5 floating around. Including one from Canadian carrier TELUS along with one from Google. The image above is the same image that was used when the Nexus 5 hit Google Play prematurely a couple of weeks ago. The rumor right now is that the Nexus 5 would be available on Google Play on October 31st. Which means we should see an announcement about Android 4.4 and the Nexus 5 sometime next week. Unless Google decides to just announce it through a press release again this year, which I really hope they don’t. As for our Canadian friends, the Nexus 5 will be heading up North on November 8th and according to  Mobile Syrup , it should be landing on Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Koodo

Rumor: Nexus 5 and Android 4.4, KitKat, Not Launching Until November

Image
The Nexus 5 has been rumored to be launching in October for a long time now and the KitKat Twitter account has been making all sorts of hints that it’s coming then but now, we’re hearing that the Nexus 5 and KitKat won’t be launching until next month. Of course, this is jut another rumor but, according to  Phones Review   the Nexus 5 and KitKat have been delayed and neither will be launching until next month. That doesn’t mean that Google won’t be going ahead with whatever press event they even planned to unveil the new Nexus and their latest version of the OS but, it does mean that the devices themselves won’t be shipping until a later date. How reliable is this rumor? Well, not very if we’re honest but, a delay is relatively likely. After all, that would explain why we’ve seen the device leak out so many times now, see it pass through the FCC and yet we’ve heard nothing from Google on the subject. In fact, the press event that they’re holding later on today is apparently going to foc

Nexus 5 Service Manual Leaked Out, Gave All Nexus 5 Specs

Image
This evening,  Android Police  is reporting on a purported service manual that was sent to them by an anonymous source that gives us a lot more detail about the next Nexus. Whether it be the Nexus 5 or the Nexus 4 (2013). It looks very familiar, very like the one that passed through the FCC and the one the Googler was holding during the Kit Kat unveiling last month. The service manual gives us plenty of specs as well: 4.95-inch 1080p IPS TFT display 32GB internal storage 2GB of RAM MSM8947 – Snapdragon 800 clocked @ 2.3GHz 8MP OIS Camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera 2300mAh battery Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Proximity/Ambient Light, Pressure Slimport Micro SIM slot Notification light Wireless charging NFC Bluetooth 3.0….surprised it’s not 4.0. UMTS/GSM/CDMA/LTE compatibility   Android Police is also stating that the weird circle on the front of the device is the earpiece. There’s still not a clear view of that circle on the front available just yet. The assumption is that it’s

Rumor: Nexus 5 Price Increase, Release Date is end of October?

Image
Another day, another rumor. This time it’s coming out of a source familiar with Google, which has told  TechRadar   that the much anticipated Nexus 5 is going to be announced and start shipping in the last week of October. The Nexus 5 will also be “half the price” of the iPhone 5s, which should make the Nexus 5 land around $446 US. Which is almost $100 more than the Nexus 4 was sold at. Of course that’s Euro’s to US dollar, so it could be a bit cheaper. This would put the Nexus 5 right in line with Google’s low-price, high-performance smartphone trend they have started with the Nexus line. The source was referring to UK shipping, which should mean we’ll see an international launch of the Nexus 5. Especially since we are already in October and it has yet to be announced. Then there’s the part about the rumor saying “match the iPhone 5s”, wait what? That leaves us wondering if Google is adding a fingerprint sensor, maybe 64GB of storage, maybe the same specs as the iPhone 5s? Who knows.

Nexus 5 Graphics Right on Par with the iPhone 5S and Xperia Z1

Image
The Nexus 5 is LG and Google’s worst kept secret right now. We’ve seen a lot of leaks and rumors of the Nexus 5 which we expect Google to announce next month with Android 4.4 KitKat. The Nexus 5 was even left in a bar, whether it was intentional or not. We all have theories about that, but we’ll save those for another post. So far we know a lot about the Nexus 5, or at least we think we do. The Nexus 5 is stated to have a 4.96-inch 1080p display with a Snapdragon 800 processor. The Nexus 5 appeared on  GFXBench’s website , and the device scored pretty good on two game simulation tests. We didn’t yet have the on-screen results, but off-screen testing shows that the Nexus 5 is likely featuring the powerful Adreno 330 GPU. This also puts the device on par with the iPhone 5S at a score of 23. And it puts it above the Xperia Z1 at 21 and the LG G2 at 20. Which it’s pretty cool to see it surpass the LG G2, since that’s the device we believe the Nexus 5 is modelled after. The T-Rex 2.7 test i

LG Nexus 5 rumors surface, set to compete with Nexus 4 pricing

LG may have just revealed their new LG G2 smartphone, but that isn’t all they have in the works. With countless reports and rumors surrounding the next Nexus, some stating it will be from LG, previous reports claimed they have no part in the device. That, and today’s new rumor comes just days after reports surfaced that Moto is up next for the Nexus 5. The VP of LG Europe recently stated that the company is in fact not working on the “Nexus 5″ smartphone. The VP Won Kim went on to mention “ The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google,” and continued that with comments that they’d do it again, but don’t “need” to. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard those comments either, and now they seem pointless if these rumors are correct. According to My Drivers things are certainly in the works by LG and Google, and we could be seeing the next Nexus soon. While we’ve already speculated that LG and Google would partner on the G2 and make it a Nexus just
