@Evleaks Leaks Out The Google LG Nexus 5 Press Shots

Image
Ready for another Nexus 5 press shot? Well  @evleaks  thinks that we haven’t seen enough already. First we saw the one from TELUS, then the one from the Play Store when Google “accidentally” posted the Nexus 5 in the store. Now we’ve got one from everyone’s favorite leaker, that’s Evleaks. This press shot looks just like all the other images we’ve seen in the past month or so. You can even see the new icons which we’ve seen in many KitKat leaks as well as the new app drawer, folder and even the transparent navbar and status bar (which I think look amazing). We already knew that the Nexus 5 announcement and release is right around the corner, but the fact that Evleaks has now leaked it means we are really close. He doesn’t generally leak things until the release or announcement is a couple of weeks away or less. Google’s been rumored to announce the Nexus 5, and KitKat on so many dates that it might be easier to count the days that it hasn’t been rumored to be announced on. We know it

Android 4.4 and Nexus 5 Show up in Web logs

Image
Here’s some interesting news, and a leak that normally happens close to an announcement. It appears that some web logs are seeing Android 4.4 builds on some Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 devices. The build is KRT10F, KRT10, and KRT13. So this looks to be a more updated version of KitKat than what we’ve seen in other leaks lately. What’s interesting is that it’s showing up on both Nexus 4 and Nexus 5′s. Which pretty much confirms that the new Nexus will be named the Nexus 5. Now how can we decode these build numbers? Well basically the first letter stands for the release. So in Jelly Bean we had J builds, and in Ice Cream Sandwich we had I builds. Now the second letter stands for the branch code that allows Google to identify which code branch the build was made from. R is normally the primary release branch. Now the third letter and two numbers are for the date. The letter is for the quarter and the numbers are for the day. So it looks like this one was built on October 10th an

Nexus 5 Pricing Leaks Out; $299 for 16GB and 2,300 mAh or $399 for 32GB and 3,000 mAh Battery

At this point, you would imagine that everything there is to know about the Nexus 5 is out there for all to see. Well, in most cases that’s true however, one of the key aspects of the Nexus line still remains a mystery to us; until now. Pricing for both models of the Nexus 5 have seemingly leaked out and if you were unhappy with both the storage and battery options of last year, prepare to be excited. An anonymous tipster has given  PhoneArena   information on what could be pricing for the two models of the Nexus 5. Apparently, the Nexus 5 16GB model will be shipping with a 2,300 mAh Battery for $299. Meanwhile, there’s a beefier option for $399, which gets you 32GB of Storage and a 3,000 mAh battery. This is a change from last year’s offering from LG that came in either 8 or 16GB flavors for $299 or $349, respectively. Last year’s Nexus however, disappointed a lot of users thanks to its 2,100 mAh battery. When the user manual leaked and gave us what we thought was all the device’s sec

Nexus 5 Render Looks Rather Familiar – Also Looks Like a Nexus 7 Mini

Image
Earlier this week, after Google dropped that bombshell on us about the next version of Android being named Kit Kat, yes Kit Kat as in the candy bar. The company also posted a video of the new statue being delivered and set up on the lawn at the Google plex. As usual, many of the Googlers were out to take pictures of their new friend. Normally we wouldn’t read to much into it, but we did notice that there was an unidentified Nexus device in the mix. Quite possibly the new Nexus 5 that’s set to debut this fall with Android 4.4. We talked about this unidentified Nexus device on Tuesday and it looks quite a bit like the Nexus 7, but smaller. The camera on the back also seems to be a bit bigger like perhaps an UltraPixel camera. Which personally, I’d love to have a 8MP UltraPixel camera, I love the camera on the HTC One and One Mini but would love more megapixels for regular pictures. We also noticed that the LG logo and the “N” for Nexus on the back were covered up. Well now there’s a rend
