Sorry, early adopters: new 128GB and 256GB Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus announced

Samsung will release 128GB and 256GB versions of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. These new Galaxy S9 storage options will probably make folks angry who already bought the 64GB version. The new Galaxy S9 storage options will be available exclusively at Samsung.com starting May 18. If you held off on buying the Samsung Galaxy S9  or  Galaxy S9 Plus  because both only came with 64GB of storage space, you’ll be happy with today’s news. If you bought a Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus already, you’re probably going to be pretty upset. Samsung announced today that, starting on May 18, there will be two new storage versions of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus: a 128GB model and a 256GB model. New pricing will reflect the storage upgrades, but the original 64GB models will remain the same price. Since it is pretty impractical to upgrade the internal storage of a smartphone, this means anyone with a 64GB model of the Galaxy S9 will have to sell that version to rebuy an S9 with

Pick one: Stereo front-facing speakers or 3.5mm headphone jack? (Poll of the Week)

Image
Last week’s poll summary: Out of almost 3,300 total votes , 56.8 percent of our readers said they would not pay for Google services if Google adopted a subscription model. 19.8 percent said they’d pay $5 or less for access to Google’s services each month, 13 percent said they’d pay between $5 and $10 per month, and only 5 percent said they’d pay between $10 and $20. The YouTube crowd was a little more adamant about not wanting to pay. 86 percent of YouTube voters said they wouldn’t pay anything for Google services, while only 10 percent said they’d pay less than $5 per month. Nowadays, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a smartphone that has a headphone jack. Aside from OnePlus , Samsung , and LG , most other phone makers have ditched the 3.5mm port. Not everyone is happy with the decision to remove the port (including myself), and 70 percent of  Android Authority readers agree . Removing the headphone jack might be one of the least consumer-friendly trends in the smartphone world in

Redmi Note 5 Pro will get a price increase in India to ensure ‘steady supply’

Image
Xiaomi has announced that it will be increasing the suggested price of the 4GB+64GB Redmi Note 5 Pro , in a bid to ensure “steady supply” of the devices. The company has opened several manufacturing facilities in India, including a plant devoted to printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) earlier this month .
