Now, a new Samsung patent has hinted at another possible direction for the future of smartphone design. Serial patent hunters LetsGoDigital has dug up a new patent that Samsung filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USTPO). The application is titled “Portable terminal and icon arranging method” and was published on January 23, 2020. It has also been included in the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) database. Did Samsung just accidentally leak the official Galaxy S20 release date?

91Mobiles Just yesterday, Samsung announced pre-registrations for its new lot of Galaxy phones. While Samsung didn’t specify a date for when pre-orders will open, it may have revealed the Galaxy S20 series final release date by mistake. According to Samsung’s pre-registration page , the delivery date for those who reserve the new Galaxy smartphones will be March 6. Samsung was showing this estimated date up until earlier today, but the website has now removed the same. Instead, Samsung has replaced the date with the phrase “expedited delivery while supplies last.” Luckily, we were able to grab a screenshot of the webpage before it was updated. You can see it below: It seems plausible that the date was removed because Samsung didn’t want to reveal the March 6 release date ahead of its Unpacked event on February 11. Verizon’s 5G network now available in 31 US cities (Update: More cities added)

Update, January 31, 2020 (4:43AM ET):   Verizon has extended its 5G network to three more US cities. These include: Little Rock, Kansas City, and Cincinnati. These three new cities join the list of 31 other cities covered by Verizon 5G in 2019. In Little Rock, Verizon’s 5G service will be available in parts of Midtown, University District, Birchwood, Otter Creek, and near landmarks such as: UAMS College of Medicine, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Rock Creek Square Plaza Shopping Center, and Outlets of Little Rock. In Kansas City, the service will be concentrated in parts of Downtown, Midtown-Westport, Plaza Midtown, Olathe, and near landmarks such as: The Garment District, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Rockhurst University, as well as inside and around the professional football stadium.
