Paranoid Android Announces their KitKat Plans

Today, Paranoid Android took to Google+ (as most companies and others do for ‘blog posts’ nowadays) to explain some upcoming projects and changes to one of the most popular custom ROMs. Paranoid Android talked about their plans for the KitKat release. They also let everyone know that their newest addition to the team is none other than kernel extraordinaire Francisco Franco, the guy that makes Franco kernel. They also listed their core development team as well as the port guys.
Then Paranoid Android went on to explain their roadmap for KitKat. They are going to focus on fewer devices, combining everyone’s skills will make for a truly awesome experience and a mega stable ROM. So it looks like they are doing the opposite of CyanogenMod. CyanogenMod supports every device under the sun, while Paranoid Android is only supporting a few. They are also going to re-do Paranoid Android from scratch. What that means is that all the knowledge they’ve accumulated since creating Paranoid Android will be implemented again. The focus is going to be on the modular design and clean features. They are also saying that features must be polished and integrated, 100% stable and fast. Which I couldn’t agree more.

They also stated that there will be more features in 2014. These things will have similar impact as Hybrid, Pie or Halo has. Right now, most of these are just ideas and concepts. They are also looking to reduce kanging to a minimum. They are basically looking to not use CyanogenMod or other parts, like the quicktoggles, and to write them, themselves and make them look Googly. They want these features to be good enough to where Matias Duarte would approve of them, himself.
There’s some big changes coming to Paranoid Android, and I can’t wait to see how much better this ROM gets. It’s already one of my favorite ROMs. It’s my favorite for features, but CyanogenMod is still my favorite for stability. How many of you are rocking Paranoid Android?
