Pokéland, yet another new Pokémon app, is coming to Android

The legion of Pokémon fans have yet another new mobile app to look forward to playing in the near future. The Pokémon Company has just announced Pokéland in its home country of Japan. It’s currently running a limited alpha test for Android owners until June 9.

Pokéland is similar to the older Nintendo Wii console game Pokémon Rumble. Players control Pocket Creatures as they battle each other on a number of islands. The Android alpha has 134 Pocket Monsters to choose from, along with six islands and 52 stages. At the moment, there’s no word on when the game will officially launch. There’s also no information on if it will be made available outside of Japan, but we would bet that it will be launched in other parts of the world because, well, it’s a Pokémon game.

Besides the popular AR game Pokémon Go, which launched in the summer of 2016, we have seen two more Pokémon mobile games for Android become available in 2017 in the US. One is Pokémon Duel, a free-to-play digital board game. The other game, Pokémon: Magikarp Jump, launched just last week. It has the player training the fish-like Pokémon creature Magikarp to jump out of the water as high as it can.

Slate A woman’s trip to the Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium, and Safari Park in Arizona was cut short when she was clawed by a captive jaguar (via CBS News ).
