Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus price and availability

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus hit general retail on Friday, March 16, 2018. At launch in the U.S., the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus is available in Midnight Black, Lilac Purple, and Coral Blue. A fourth colorway, Titanium Gray, will not be sold in the U.S. As always, certain colorways might be exclusive to certain carriers.

The Galaxy S9 price is $719.99 unlocked (or $30/month over 24 months) and the Galaxy S9 Plus price is $839.99 unlocked (or $35/month over 24 months) via samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app.

Samsung is sweetening the pill with a trade-in promotion that is available for the first time globally. Galaxy S9 buyers can trade in their devices for up to $350. The top payout is for devices that are under a year old, and the device you’re trading in doesn’t need to be a Samsung.

In addition, Samsung is also offering discounts on ‘add-on’ purchases. The $49 Power Upgrade Bundle includes a wireless charging pad, battery pack, and car charger, while the $99 S9 Ultimate Bundle includes a wireless charging stand, a Gear VR headset, and a pair of Gear IconX wireless earphones. You can also grab a half price DeX station for just $74.99 (normally $149.99).

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus carrier deals

AT&T

On AT&T Next, customers can buy the Galaxy S9 for $26.34 or the Galaxy S9 Plus for $30.50 over 30 months. For those looking for a trade-in deal after a year, the AT&T Next Every Year plan comes in at $32.92 for the Galaxy S9 and $38.13 for the Galaxy S9 Plus over 24 months.

AT&T subsidiary Cricket Wireless is also stocking the Galaxy S9 for $749.99 alongside monthly plans that start from $30 per month.

Verizon

With Verizon device payment, the Galaxy S9 is $33.33 per month for 24 months ($799.99 retail price; 0% APR) and the Galaxy S9 Plus’s price will be is $38.74 per month for 24 months ($929.99 retail price; 0% APR). You can also get between $100 to $350 in credit for either phone if you trade in an eligible device.

To celebrate the launch of the Galaxy S9, Verizon is also running a BOGO offer. To get this deal, all you have to do is pick up one Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus on a device payment and you’ll get $799.99 towards the purchase of second Galaxy S9 device. One line must be a new activation and the discount is applied monthly over 24 months.

You can also get $150 off a Samsung Gear S3 Classic or Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch or 50% off a Samsung Tab E or Tab S3 tablet with a new Galaxy S9 phone on a 2-year payment plan. Verizon Up customers will also be able to claim $10 off selected Samsung accessories via the My Verizon app.

T-Mobile

The Galaxy S9 will be sold for $30 a month on the T-Mobile Equipment Installment Plan ($0 down, 24 months, FRP: $720), with the Galaxy S9 Plus also available for $30 per month ($120 down, 24 months, FRP: $840).

You can also get up to 50  percent off both phones (via 24 monthly payments) if you trade in an eligible device, or $200 off by trading in various older devices. You can see the full list here. MetroPCS, T-Mobile’s no-contract subsidiary, is also selling the Galaxy S9.

Sprint

Sprint is selling the S9 for $33.00 per month with $0 down and Sprint Flex 18-month lease (SRP: $792), and Galaxy S9 Plus priced at $38.00 per month with $0 down and Sprint Flex 18-month lease (SRP: $912). Both phones are available in Sprint stores as well as Sprint’s no-contract subsidiary, Boost Mobile.

Xfinity Mobile

Xfinity Mobile is offering the Galaxy S9 from $30.00 per month for 24 months, while the Galaxy S9 Plus comes in at $35.oo per month for 24 months. For a limited time, buyers who purchase a Samsung phone from Xfinity Mobile and activate a new line of service will also get a $250 Visa prepaid card.

Student promo (U.S.)

Samsung has launched a student discount program in the US, delivering savings on the S9 and S9 Plus for those with a valid .edu email address. Students at schools, colleges, and universities across the US can get $63 off both handsets, bringing them down to $665.99 (S9) and $776.99 (S9 Plus), once they’ve registered for the program and validated their address.
