Halloween is always a great time to watch something frightening, something that will give you chills. It’s also a great time to watch something light-hearted and memorable. Fortunately, if you’re a Netflix subscriber, you have access to a huge catalog of Halloween movies to choose from as Halloween approaches.

1. The Conjuring
The Conjuring happens in the 1970s and follows a family that moves into a farmhouse. Unfortunately, it turns out that a supernatural presence is there to terrorize all who enter.
To remove the spirit, an investigator and demonologists are called in. As they learn, it’s harder to remove a supernatural being that’s historically tied to the home.
2. Coraline
After moving to a new home, Coraline discovers a secret door. Just inside lays a parallel universe that is eerily similar to her own.
At first, Caroline finds this alternative life to be better and more fun than her own, but things end up taking a turn for the worst. Now, Caroline must find a way to escape and get back home.
3. Scream
What do you get when you combine teenagers and a serial killer stalker? Scream. You get Scream.

A year after her mother is killed, a woman and her friends start receiving creepy phone calls asking about horror movie trivia. What comes next is a masked killer that terrorizes the town and those they call.
4. The Sixth Sense
Seeing dead people is horrifying, but what happens when a child claims to see people’s ghosts? What about when the spirits ask the kid to do things for them?
A child psychiatrist has to figure out how to help rid the child of his ability while also tackling the real-world realizations that come from the horrible visions.
5. Bird Box
An unknown presence has come to inflict havoc on the world. No one knows what the thing is, but anyone who sees it is driven to commit suicide.

Five years after society crumbled, a mother must take her children to safety. But to do this, they must travel down roads, rivers, and more while being blindfolded. If they peek at the world around them, everything is over.
6. Insidious
A family moves into a new home when one of their children unexpectedly falls into a coma. As the parents struggle to find what caused their son’s condition, things quickly unravel as the stress of the situation starts to take its toll on their relationship.
The situation only worsens as specters eventually make their presence known. That’s when the family realizes it’s dealing with something beyond anyone’s comprehension.
7. 1922
Based on a Stephen King novella, a farmer kills his wife after she decides to leave him. Shortly after inheriting her family’s land, the farmer, his son, and all those on the farm start receiving visits from a supernatural being.
Is it just bad luck or has the farmer’s reluctance to leave the land come back to haunt him?
8. The Ritual
Following the violent death of a friend, four old college friends embark on a hiking trip to honor his memory. The trip takes the men along King’s Trail in the Swedish wilderness of Sarek National Park.

Unfortunately for the four men, they soon find out these are no normal woods. From pagan sacrifices to nightmares, the Nordic forest forces them to look at the darkness within themselves. Whether they make it out alive is another story.
