Moto G Specs Leak Out Once Again

motogpress

The Moto G is set to be announced tomorrow and in the wake of apparently “disappointing” sales of the Moto X, it might well be the device that gets people talking about Motorola outside of the US. All signs are pointing to the Moto G being a budget minded device, one that delivers a decent enough experience without having to cost as much as other devices. We’ve seen it leak out a number of times before, with @evleaks getting the ball rolling and a leak from the UK we know a fair bit about the Moto G. Now, thanks to a German retailer that briefly listed the device on the web, as GSMArena is reporting, we have more images of the device and some more confirmation on the specs.

For all intents and purposes, the Moto G looks just like the Moto X, which is hardly a surprise but, it’s nice to see Moto sticking with a coherent design. Which flies in the face of their past offerings at the low-end, with much different designs from their high-end cousins. Specs wise, we’re not looking at anything too special, as you can see below:
  • 4.5-inch 1280 x 720 Display
  • Quad-Core 1.2 Ghz CPU
  • Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and HSPA+ – no mention of LTE
  • 8GB of Storage
  • 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, with 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera
  • Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
As for pricing, Amazon mistakenly listed the device yesterday at £160 unlocked which would seem about right but, it could retail for a little less than that. No matter what though, the Moto G is not going to be an expensive device. After all, the specs don’t command a high price and unfortunately, Motorola isn’t a position to release a higher-end device like the Moto X in Europe and other countries. However, a budget-minded device like this could help Motorola find their way back and it’s a pretty good start. These should sell pretty well this Holiday. The event is pegged for tomorrow so, keep tuned as we’ll have more info then.
